The History of the Sevilla Building @ 325 Motor Way

The Sevilla Building has always been home to local merchants. After a little research Archetictural Historian Alexandra Cole found some old plans that showed the building was once home to the Rollercade Roller Skating Rink along with other businesses including Kraft Cheese several different car dealerships through out the years.

Today SevillaSquare is home to 20+ local SB merchants a block off State St.. www.SevillaSquare.com

One of SB’s best kept secrets, our block has been the local go to for 20 years because of business like the SB Roasting Co., Backyard Bowls and Yoga Soup. It’s what we’re calling the "Local Zone" of Santa Barbara, says Albert DiPadova, director of the Sevilla Merchant Association.

Bordered by Parker and Motor Way this Block was originally home to Vincent Buick, which is now Hayward's building .

After launching our new site www.SevillaSquare.com we’re working with local agencies like Visit SB and the Down Town Organization and the Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce o help us get a zoning designation as a great collection of locally owned gift shops, day spas, restaurants and services.

Our Mayor Cathy Murillo stopped by with our district sup. Oscar Gutierrez during the Experiment weekend to say how much she likes the new website and our sign. When you think about how tourist come up from under the freeway Sevilla Square is the first “District" that they encounter.
